Christoforos Savva (1924 - 1968) Artist.
Born in Marathovouno, Cyprus 1924. Studied art in London at St. Mantin’s School of Art and Heatherley’s School of Art (1947-1953) and in Paris at the Andre Lhote Academy (1956-1959). In Cyprus developed extensive artistic and cultural activities. In 1955 founded the “Art-Lovers’ Society” and in 1960 together with Glyn Hughes the Apophasis Gallery, which developed into the first cultural center of the newly-founded Cypriot Republic. Died in Sheffield in 1968.
Has presented his work in one-man exhibitions.

Eight posthumous exhibitions were organized of which two by the cultural services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Christophoros Savva Foundation 1988 and 1993 and one on 2002 by Kypriaki Gonia Gallery and the Christoforos Savva Foundation.
Also took part in many group exhibitions: in Cyprus and abroad: Paris, Beirunt, Greece, Venice Biennale 1968, etc.
